GEMS (Girls Excelling in Math and Science) Club is open to Inman 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
“Do you like to build things like rockets, bridges, catapults or towers? Do you like to make things like slime, lipgloss, robots or circuit boards? Do you like to grow bacteria and solve crimes? Do you love plants, animals and nature?
If you said yes any of these questions then GEMS is the place for you! At GEMS you will complete science and engineering projects every week.
Don’t like math? Hate science? Don’t worry!
At GEMS we use problem solving and team work to complete our projects. We tackle big problems in hands on ways that will get your creativity flowing and your mind working hard without feeling overwhelmed.
As the late great groundbreaking female mathematician Maryam Mirzakhani said, “It’s not only the question, but the way you try to solve it.”
GEMS is an after school program at Inman Middle school run by Dr. MaryLynn Realff and her students from Georgia Institute of Technology through Women in Science and Technology (WST).
