Inman’s Fine Arts Department is proud to announce the premier of its first Broadway Junior Collection Musical, “Into the Woods”! Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students (cash only) and will be sold this week before school and during the lunch periods (there will be a table in the cafeteria). Inman Theatre Arts students participated in the Ryan Cameron Foundation Youth Anti-Violence Arts Contest. One of our teams (8th grade: Amelia Kushner, Remy Pair and Sadie Mothershed) WON the FIRST PLACE $500 prize for their anti-bullying PSA. The Atlanta Hawks Foundation was so impressed with the piece that they donated another $1,000.00 to the award. This started as a simple class project infused into the theatre arts curriculum as an extension of our SEL initiative. See the winning video can be viewed here.
I am beyond pleased with the results. The winners were not able to be present to receive the award so Hanna Willis (8th grade), Jeb Davis (6th grade), and Malori Switzer (6th grade) gave up their time today to participate in the youth forum and represent Inman and accept the award on behalf of Amelia, Remy, and Sadie….teamwork makes the dreamwork so kudos to them as well!

Picture this: Moving Forward: Imagine the most ‘normal’ little high school, Linny High. At Linny High there is a PA (performing arts) program that is getting shut down along with other problems – involving the students, parents, and faculty of Linny High. These characters are all connected, but they don’t quite know how. Counselor Jane must hold them all together as they are forced to move in different directions. Just when you think all is beginning to change for the best, a sudden turn of events change the directions all the characters must move in..
