The Inman Middle PTO Christmas Tree Lot opens on Friday, November 25th and will be open throughout the holiday season everyday from 9:00am-9:00pm. The annual Christmas Tree lot is one of Inman’s PTO biggest fundraisers and the trees come fresh from Barefoot Mountain, NC. Come shop for trees, wreaths, garland and gifts under the tent! There are all sorts of local honeys, candles, and decorations — great for holiday gifts. Come out and support Inman Middle School!

Eligibility: All Inman Middle School students and any student in the Atlanta Public School system who attends a school without a baseball team, and in good academic standings. 5th graders are eligible to try out as well and should attend the 6th Grader tryout.
We want to get the Inman Baseball tryouts going so we can select a team, start practices, and order uniforms without rushing in late January and early February. We realize many players are multi-sport athletes and have other commitments in the winter but with the break in the weather we will host our first tryout and make accommodation for those who can’t make tryouts this time. If your player wants to try out and is not available please email me directly with Name, Grade, Position, and Availability.
For the first time, Inman Middle School is planning to host two baseball teams. This is a strong indication of the growth of youth baseball and we are thrilled to expand the roster. The idea is to have an A-team and B-team. We plan to practice both teams together so regardless of which team your ball player is selected they will be on the ‘Inman Middle School Team’. At times our best 8th-grade players may have the option to play JV for Grady or due to schedules the A-team roster may fall below 12 players, when that happens we will select a B-team player who has shown a great work ethic and improved talent to play up in an A-Team game. However, at no time can an A-team player play on the B-team, so for some, this may be an advantage to play on the B-team since they would play more games than most.
We have new batting cages at Grady high school and starting in 2018 on Friday’s after school players will meet at the Flagpole immediately after last period and as a group walk with their helmets, baseball bats, and gloves to Grady high school. We will use the Medlock baseball field #6 for field practices on Sunday afternoons until games begin then will move to a tbd selected weeknight for practice. We plan to host 8 batting practices after school and 8 field practices, at a minimum.
As most of you know, we have a new coach, Stephen Farris. Coach Farris currently manages the 13u team for Team360 Hawks travel baseball team. Coach Farris brings a solid understanding of the game of baseballs but also the sports psychology of building young players into champions in life. We are very excited to have Coach Farris and all his passion and energy for coaching baseball.
Same Management (but your help is needed)
Inman baseball is still a club sport and therefore it still takes parental involvement to make all of this magic happen. This is my third year of managing everything ‘outside the white lines’ of the baseball field such as, coordinating with the baseball league, selecting our coach, managing the funds, purchasing the uniforms, communications, etc, however, I do need help! Please contact me if you can help with one of the following: Field Prep, Scoreboard (home games only), Assistant coaching, Game Changer*. Note this year, the league is requiring all teams to use Game Changer to score the game. I will need a parent for each team to step up as the ‘Game Changer’ keeper, they can have an alternative. If no one steps up, then there will be an additional fee to pay someone.
Cost & Physical Forms
Currently estimated at $295 per player. If you ball player is selected funds need to be paid in full to Inman Middle School by February 1st. There are grants available to any player, however, those on school lunch assistance programs receive first requests. Grant requests and completed Physical Forms are to be sent directly to Coach Dionne by February 1st.
The Future – Our own Baseball Field and recognition as a School Sport
For many years passionate and dedicated baseball parents before us laid the groundwork to attain a baseball field for Grady and Inman. I’m thrilled to share their hard work has paid off and in July 2018 Grady and Inman will now have their own baseball field located at 320 Irwin Street. This is huge and could potentially lead to Grady and Inman baseball becoming a School Sport, vs a club! We want to make this happen so your support is essential. Walden Athletic Complex

There will be a Girls Lacrosse Interest Meeting on Wednesday, November 29th at 4:15pm in the Auditorium. This meeting is for both parents and students who want to learn more about our 2017-18 season. (Flyer)
Lacrosse is open to girls in 6th, 7th and 8th grade. We welcome all new and returning players. No experience necessary! Lacrosse is a Club Sport at Inman so we are supported by dues ($175) and parent volunteers. Scholarships are available; please contact Ms. Walz for more info. Pre-season conditioning practices and clinics will start in December (Sundays, 2:30 pm). The season officially begins with our first practice on Tuesday, January 9th, 2018. Regular practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:15 to 6pm at the Inman Field of Dreams (across the street from the Auditorium). All players are required to turn in current APS sports forms which can be found here. It is also mandatory that all players sign up for a US Lacrosse membership at www.uslacrosse.org ($30).

The PTO operating budget needs your generous tax-deductible support by September 30! The suggested amount is $100 per child at Inman, but any amount is appreciated. Any amount over $20 includes a PTO family membership. $10 includes a PTO individual membership.JOIN / DONATE
