CINS’ Officer Elections for the 2017-18 School Year

CINS Is Now Accepting Officer Nominations
Through Thursday, April 20, 2017

The Council of Intown Neighborhoods & Schools (CINS) is now accepting nominations for officers for the 2017-2018 school year. Open positions are co-president (two-year term), treasurer (one-year term) and secretary (one-year term).

Detailed job descriptions can be found here, and individuals may nominate themselves. ​

Nominations should include:

  • The nominee’s name/contact information
  • ​A brief statement regarding interest and qualifications
  • Grades/schools of any children attending APS in 2017-18​​

​Please send nominations to Ellen Mayer ​by Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 5 pm.

Grady Athletic Booster Club Elections

The Grady Grey Knights Athletic Booster Club meeting previously scheduled for Wednesday, April 12 has been POSTPONED! The meeting is tentatively re-scheduled for Wednesday, April 19 at 6:30 p.m. Please consult the Grady website calendar and the next Gradygram for confirmation of the new date. We will be conducting officer elections for the new board at the re-scheduled meeting. If you would like to be added to the Athletic Booster Club distribution list in order to receive future meeting notices via email, please send your contact information to gradyathleticboosters@gmail.com.

Howard Middle School Design Committee

The Howard Middle School Design Committee had its initial meeting on 3/29/17 to discuss initial design concepts and options. Meeting notes and links to the presentation are included below. Along with the architecture and design firms of Stevens & Wilkinson and Lord Aeck Sargent, the design team is made of of representatives from APS and IMS, including Interim Principal Emily Boatright, Teacher Johnny Taylor, PTA reps Cathy Lepik and Gail Price, and GO Team members Tamara Jones and Angela Lewis. The next meeting is slated for this Friday, 4/14. Questions or comments can be send to president@inmanmiddleschool.org or operations@inmanmiddleschool.org.

Grady Soccer Community Night – Friday, April 14

Grady SoccerThe Grady soccer program is having another successful year! The Varsity Girls team, which includes many Inman alum, finished second in their conference to clinch a play-off spot last night. The state 7th ranked Varsity Boys team is looking to clinch a playoff spot with one more conference win after Spring Break. No doubt the program will continue to grow and strengthen with the infusion of Inman’s soccer talent!

We wanted to invite you all to come out to Grady Soccer Community and Senior Night on Friday, April 14 at Grady. See flyer below. The Varsity Girls kick off at 5:30 pm while the Varsity Boys kick off at 7:30pm. Bring your appetite because Food Trucks are coming: Gekko Sushi; Tex’s Tacos; and Repicci’s Real Italian Ice & Gelato.

Grady Grey Knights Athletic Booster Club – Officer Elections April 19

The meeting is tentatively re-scheduled for Wednesday, April 19 at 6:30 p.m.

The Grady Grey Knights Athletic Booster Club is now accepting nominations to its board of directors for the 2017-2018 membership year. Elections will take place on April 12 April 19. The board of directors consists of the following officers: President, First Vice-President, Second Vice-President/Membership Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer. A description of officer responsibilities can be found in the Booster Club bylaws on the Grady athletic website. All members who have paid their dues for the 2016-17 year can vote in the election. Dues for the remainder of the 2016-17 school year are only $5 and may be paid at the meeting. To suggest yourself or someone else for the Athletic Booster Club board of directors, send the name and contact information to Grady Athletics by March 27th.

The Athletic Booster Club provides financial and volunteer support to Grady High School athletic teams and clubs. The Athletic Booster Club welcomes everyone who supports its mission to become a part of our organization! Parents of rising 9th grade students are especially encouraged to get involved with the Booster Club as we begin planning for Homecoming 2017 and the rest of the 2017-18 school year.

Featured Speaker: John Keltz, Atlanta Public Schools Director of Research and Evaluation

Please join your fellow Grady Cluster parents, teachers, and stakeholders as we learn about the achievements and challenges in the Grady Cluster Schools. Mr. Keltz has a talent for bringing numbers to life and will share insights into the Grady Cluster’s performance data, including the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) for each school, demographics, test scores and more. He will also discuss how Grady Cluster schools measure against other Atlanta cluster schools, the state, and the nation.

Questions will taken from the floor, or you may submit questions in advance to John Keltz.

Attendees are welcome to bring lunch.
